Happy Mother’s day in Himbacracy Philosophy Perceptive
I listen to local music and am a
critical listener. I listened to Otjiherero music based on Himbacracy
Philosophy Psychoanalytical this morning. I wanted to compose a message on
Mother's Day from the Himba perspective after listening to the two selected pieces
of music. I was listening to a song by E-boy, a teacher and musician, called
MAMA. But in Otjiherero, I haven't forgotten. I listened to the song and then
translated it into English. It says, "I love you, Mom, I haven't forgotten
yet, the woman of the food that I have eaten, Mom who has raised me up to this
age, I haven't forgotten yet Mom, the hard-working like man, I haven't
forgotten yet Mom, you gave good advice that brought me here, respect your
mother to achieve in life." Another song was written by Muharukua M, a
future teacher, and it says, "I am shouting out as a young of the future,
Mom listen to me when I am trying to achieve my future, Mom listen to me when I
am trying to survive, Mom listen I am trying to survive, we are trying our future
in the land of Otjikume-Kaoko."
After listening to two songs and
analyzing them linguistically, but in the context of Otjihimba or Otjihimba
stylistics, I realized that it is important to commemorate Mother's Day in
Africa because Mother's Day is a commemoration of the mother of the family or
individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers
in society. Mother's Day should not be a one-time event, but rather an ongoing
tradition. Happy Mother's Day, every day.
